ASFOCOAT-160 alongwith ASFOCLEAN-140 additive is widely used for pre-treatment of M.S. Drums and Barrels for cleaning cum phosphating by spray process prior to painting.
Surfaces treated with Asfocoat-160 gives good bonding to paints and also prevents under paint corrosion. Further spreading of rust is restricted to damaged portion only.
APPLICATION :
Use Asfocoat-160 @ 3-5 % concentration along with 0.3-0.5 % Asfoclean 140 in spray application of 3 - 5 kgs pressure at about 40 degrees Centigrade for about 2 - 3 minutes. Then passivate the treated surfaces with a 0.5 % solution of Asfofix-A at 55 degrees Centigrade.
Ashok industry manufactures a wide range of metal pre-treatment chemicals since 1960 and is an ISO 9001-2015 certified company.

ASFOCOAT-MN
Phosphate treatment of metals or Phosphating, as it is commonly termed in the metal finishing industry has been acclaimed as one of the most useful and effective method for the protection of iron and steel surfaces from atmospheric corrosion. This is achieved by using manganese phosphating chemical : ASFOCOAT-MN. Apart from its anti-rust character, the coating provides an ideal base for an organic finish and as an aid to lubrication. It also prevents wear in sliding or frictional parts. The coating provides myriads of oil reservoirs effective in reducing friction. Performance: ASFOCOAT-MN is of Manganese Phosphate type and mainly used for producing corrosion resistant phosphate coating as well as lubricating and wear resistant surface under a dip type system. It produces dark grey coatings of the order of .002 mm for light coatings and .005 mm or more for heavy coatings weighing from 800 mgs per sq.ft. of surface area, to higher than 2,000 mgs per sq.ft. as per desired specifications to meet class A1 coating under I.S. 3618. Application: Piston Rings, Rocker Arms, Gears, Valves, Tappets, Cylinder Lines, Camshafts, Nuts & Bolts, Small Arms and Defence Equipments and other machinery spare parts are frequently phosphated to increase life, by reducing Wear and Friction.

Notes :
Tanks for Stage 1, 3 & 5 : M.S. Tank with S.S. heaters. Stage 2, 4 & 7 : M.S. or Plastic Tank
Heating in tanks 1,3, 5 should only be done from the sides of the tank and not from the bottom
False bottom should be provided in each tank to avoid parts from touching the bottom and to maintain bath free from sludge interference
Heavily contaminated sheets and parts must be dipped/swabbed with kerosene or degreasing bath solution before dipping in the degreasing bath
To make initial bath, the tanks should be half filled with water and then the required chemical added. Extra water as required should then be added to achieve the working level
Aging of the phosphating bath should be done initially by adding steel wool at 1 gm/litre of bath to build iron content in bath
Phosphating bath should be decanted periodically to remove sludge settled at the bottom of the tank
The quality and uniformity of the Phosphate coating is directly dependent on the pre-treatment prior to phosphating. It is essential that the parts are absolutely free of oil, rust, dust, scales and other contaminants before immersing in the phosphating bath
Skum & oil floating on any of the tanks should be removed immediately
Additions to all chemical tanks should be made daily and regularly to obtain consistently uniform results
All rinse water baths should be made fresh at least twice a week
